Jersey has been part of the sports industry because this is where the name and number of a certain player can be seen. This also serves as a uniform, which is why it is one of the most important things when it comes to sports. In fact, jerseys of the best players are being sold because oh how iconic they are.

23 — MICHAEL JORDAN
Michael Jordan’s No 23 is arguably the most iconic number in world sport.
So iconic, in fact, that Jordan himself wasn’t able to wear it when he returned to the NBA after his ill-fated baseball stint, because the Chicago Bulls had retired it in his honour and NBA rules prevented him from doing so.
He wore 45 instead, the number he had wanted as a kid but which had been claimed by his older brother. “He had the option to wear 45, so I just figured 23 was half of 45, 22-and-a-half,” Jordan said.
Eventually sanity prevailed and the NBA allowed Jordan to wear #23 again as he led the Bulls to yet another three-peat of NBA titles.
The football superstar wore No 7 at Manchester United but switched to 23 when he moved to Real Madrid in tribute to Jordan and kept it when he moved to LA Galaxy. Continue reading full post here…
